Circular thinking requires a lot of thought...

...Circular writing requires a lot more. Or maybe not. Maybe I just lack sleep. I'm told that you're supposed to sleep seven hours at the least... I have a lot of sleep to catch up on, I guess. But, I'm awake now... I might as well make the most of it.

I was once told that it's better to be silent than to say something hurtful. But sometimes, it's the silence that hurts the most. And it is during these times that I can't decide and understand whether I should keep talking or if I should just shut up.

There are many things in this world that is yet to be fathomed... By myself and others. I suppose, if I wanted to, I could just nod and tell you that I understand, when I haven't a clue. I could pretend that I'm hearing you as I watch your lips move to the sound of nothing. I could. But I won't. As bad as I am, I can't bring myself to give in to that kind of pretention.

...And yet I'm doing it. I write as if I know what I'm talking about when clearly, I haven't a clue. I'm just spinning sentence upon sentence of utter nonsense. Typing words one after another, with no real definition of what it is I'm trying to say, because I can't decide whether I should keep writing or if I should just stop. How terrible.

But of course... Remaining silent would have been worse.

  1. Haha! You certainly did!

What a good read. I tried to define what this was supposed to mean but I got lost. You had me thinking though. :)

  6. This blog reminds me of the song Windmills of Your Mind

"Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
    Never ending or beginning,
    On an ever spinning wheel

Like a snowball down a mountain
    Or a carnaval balloon
    Like a carousell that's turning
    Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
    Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
    In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
    Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
    Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
    Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
    Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

    Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
    Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
    Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
    Never ending or beginning,
    On an ever spinning wheel
    As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

    Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
    Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
    Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
    Never ending or beginning,
    On an ever spinning wheel
    As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

  7. I love that song... It's melancholic...

We should get together and have girls day/night. Panoorin natin yan movie ni Steve McQueen where I first heard this song yung Thomas Crown Affair tas we'll watch it back to back with Pierce Brosnan's version. Hihihi.

  9. Really? Ayiii. Hihihi.

The Steve McQueen version is obviously ... old. Haha. But it's a lot more melancholic than Pierce Brosnan's. Pierce's Thomas Crown was a lot more fun.
