Mondays' Make-up Madness - First!

Hey there make-up fans! So it's finally Monday and I finally get to jumpstart this new blog series. Yayyyy!

How long have we been waiting for this day? Pretty darn long I'd say.

So, first things first, I know that a lot of you have been waiting for the E.L.F. haul review... But since my E.L.F. haul was a really BIG haul, I have to split it into two parts. Today would be the first. The second part will be posted next Monday.

Anyway, let's kickstart the E.L.F. Haul Review Part 1 with...


$1 Plumping Lip Glaze

I've only found one other similar product that is available here in the UAE at Mikyajy at about AED40 each, so imagine my excitement when I saw that at E.L.F., I could buy all eight colors at almost half the price of the Mikyajy gloss.


The pearl gloss goes on under the tint and has this minty yummy cool feeling.

I've only tried three out of eight (Fire Coral, Oasis, Ruby Kiss), but so far I am definitely loving it. At $1 each, you are definitely getting an awesome deal.

$3 Translucent Mattifying Powder

Now, this one, I love. Eversince, I started using mineral make-up, I've sworn off all types of powders and goop that go on all over my face, partly because I break out easily (if you've seen me in person, you'd know this for a fact), but mainly because all other types of make-up feel so heavy on the skin.

...This powder is different though. It glides on very lightly and yes it is translucent and it is mattifying.

I used this last Saturday when I covered a wedding, and if it weren't too hot and if I hadn't been running around, it would probably have lasted the whole day.


I also love the big mirror on it. The sponge I don't like so much. I'm a brush, girl, what can I say?

It is pretty small too, though, and for people who wear make-up daily (i.e. me), this would probably last me three months... But hey, at $1 a month, who am I to complain?


$3 Eyebrow Kit


Now here's something, I never thought I'd actually like... I initially ordered it for when I have to put make-up on someone who has funky eyebrows, of course, I had to try it on me first just to get a feel. And oh my goodness... I don't usually do my eyebrows, because they're thick enough to not need fills or stuff like that. But with this kit, I realized the difference between good eyebrows and OH-MY-GOODNESS-WOW eyebrows.


See how fab that is? My eyebrows look longer and more tamed. The Eyebrow Kit is definitely going on my reorder list.


$3 Eye Primer & Liner Sealer

This is what love is made of!

Haha.

I bought this for the primer, because mineral concealers tend to crack and I read that using a primer would help with that...


I didn't realize though that I would end up loving the Liner Sealer.


I don't usually line my eyes, because it's such an effort. LOL. But I can't stop using this. You dip it in any eyeshadow and voila instant liner. And it's waterproof at that. Most definitely going on my reorder list.


$30 Studio Brush Set

Let's face it $30 for 10 brushes is definitely something you don't see everyday... Except probably in 5-Dirham stores, where the brush actually feels like steel wool on your skin...

After reading many mixed reviews about this product, I decided to take the plunge and ordered my own.

...Definitely glad that I did.

I will post a detailed review of each and every one of these brushes on Part 2, but as a whole, I'd say that I got value for money on this set.

Honestly, they are not as soft as The Bodyshop's brushes, but neither are MAC's... And in my opinion, MAC's brushes feel just like these.


They do come with a funky chemical smell, so you may want to deep clean them before using. Or not... The funky chemical smell isn't that pungent. If you don't already have a brush set and would like to have one, get these. They are definitely worth your money.

So, let's see... What else have I been up to last week?

For all those EDM fans, I do apologize for not doing this sooner, but anyway, I've finally been able to try the Lavender Haze Kit.


Definitely love them. This set comes with a kabuki eyeshadow brush. So you can consider yourself $5 richer, by ordering the set.

Ballet Slippers is a very light lavender that is almost blue but not really.
Romance Novel is a shimmering lavender shade.
Love Letters is a matte lavender and is about a notch darker than Romance Novel.
Wine Tasting is a shimmering grape shade which I absolutely adore.

Another review that's been long overdue, is EDM's Sandcastle Collection...

Driftwood is a matte light beige color. It works as a great base. And is great for neutral looks.
Funnel Cake is a shimmering dark beige. Very similar to Hot Chocolate.
Freckles is a shimmering khaki green. A little tough to blend, but it's pretty awesome once you get used to it.
Boardwalk is a shimmering dark brown shade which is about a shade lighter than Samba Lessons.

Base - Driftwood
Inner lid - Funnel Cake
Outer lid - Freckles
Eyeliner - Boardwalk (Used with E.L.F.'s Liner Sealer)

I am definitely loving this lace thing that it's got going on...

And inside it's just pure love.

I'm still thinking whether I'll use this for my E.L.F. stuff or my EDM stuff. Depends on which will fit I guess, huh? Hahaha.
