Friend: Do you believe that when you ask someone how they're doing and they say fine...
D: ...that they're not really fine? Yeah. Same goes for good, great, and perfect.
That's why I always make it a point to actually ask people how they are twice. Just to be sure. Of course if they still say that they're fine, I don't pry. I figure, whatever it is that they're feeling, they'll tell me, when they feel the need to.
Though the above is true most of the time... Sometimes, when people say they're fine, they're really fine. Yes, there are times when people actually do say what they feel.
And if you knew me, you would know that I am one of those people... Pride be darned, I will say what I'm feeling when I'm feeling it.
So I find it funny when people tiptoe around me, thinking that I'm not really fine.
But really, I'm fine. I'm good. I'm great. I'm perfect. In fact, I'm even happy. And yes, I'm telling the truth.
Please stop tiptoeing around my feelings and everything... It's getting kind of annoying. And I'm a little hurt that y'all would actually think that I would still not be over something that I was never under of in the first place.
I know y'all are just looking out for me and it's sweet and all, but there's really no need for it. Thank you for your concern, anyway.

and most just answer "Im fine", because that is the only moment they get to pause and think...."am I fine?! am I doing great? or am I perfect!" then the next time you ask them... that is the time they will get to answer what and how they are really feeling.

Answering positively to the "how are you?" question is almost like reflex. Asking twice or rephrasing your question would certainly get them to answer in tune to what they feel.
