Danabelle in Bridal Shorts

Candy, a Mutltiply contact, directed me to this bridal-type site... And this bridal-type site directed me this other bridal-type site and before I knew it, I have suddenly started to plan my wedding.



Of course, those who have been following my blog everso religiously, know that this isn't exactly something new. The whole "obsessive compulsive Danabelle obsessively planning her wedding which doesn't have a date yet, let alone a groom" is all old news...

But ooh, how I'd love to surprise y'all one day with a shorts title that says --- "Danabelle in Bridal Shorts - For reals!"

Haha.

But until that day, I implore you to please indulge me, just this once, as I pretend to be the Dubai bride or Mr. X and as I tell you what I have planned for the imaginary wedding so far...

The A-Theme

Over the course of our relationship... Mr. X and I have toyed with different wedding themes. Yes, we've always known that we would get married eventually, which is why, he couldn't stop laughing at how surprised I was when he proposed. LOL.

Anyway, a few of the themes that we've played with are:

Faux Winter Wonderland/Semi Goth (Frosty Pink, Frosty Blue, White, and Black): Trust Mr. X to come up with the craziest ideas. Crazy, but pretty awesome, I must admit. This is where our colors would be all icy and desaturated. Sort of like how my signature portrait tones are. He says if we're going to do this, he's going to request all the guests to wear white...

...And we would both wear black.

A Mad Tea Party (Green, Pink, Brown): I told him how I planned t throw a big bash on my 25th birthday. And how I wanted this to be the theme. And he loved it. As it turns out, kung ako laking Disney Princess (Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, etc.) s'ya laking Wonderland daw. Yung pencil case daw n'ya at mga pencils at ballpens Cheshire Cat, yung erasers ay yung iba't ibang characters sa Wonderland. Tapos ternong Mad Tea Party naman daw lunchbox at backpack n'ya (na may wheels. Importanteng part ng story yung may wheels ang backpack, kasi nung time daw n'ya cool na cool ka pag may wheels ang backpack mo. Nyahahaha.)

Indie Casual Beach Chic (Turquoise, Beige, and touches of Green): This was a given... Everytime we'd hang out at the beach, he would start yapping about how we'd get married with the waves on our feet... And where we'd put the ice cream bar, where we'd put the grill, how we'd light the place up, and what decorations we'd use... And yes, mas excited s'ya kesa sa'kin... S'ya daw kasi yung bride. Moohahaha. Joke lang, X. Labyu. :)

Jack & Sally (Autumn Colors - Orange, Maroon, Purple, Brown, Black): Blahahaha. Totoohin daw ba? LMAO. Since we'd be getting married in the fall, Mr. X thought it would be a fabulous idea to live up to our nicknames and have a halloween wedding. Complete with Halloween costumes. Moohahaha. Yeah, this is what I'm getting married to... Can you imagine? Hahaha.

Oh and lastly,

Barbie Daw (Baby Pink, Hot Pink, Dark Pink, and Pink Pink): Kinukulit ako ni X. I-consider ko daw 'to. Yes, idea n'ya 'to. And yes, talagang nagd-duda na ako. LMAO.

Location. Location. Location.

Everyone's been prodding me to just go ahead and have that big huge fabulous wedding with 10000 flowers, 1000 guests, 100 different types of food, 10 bridesmaids, all in 1 huge huge hotel type venue.



Sure. It would be awesome to hold the reception in one of the prettier hotels and the even prettier halls. And even Mr. X has given me the nod... He says if I want a big wedding, I deserve a big wedding, and that money is not an issue. I guess, I am the issue. The thing is, I just don't think it's practical. To spend hundreds of thousands of dirhams on one day.

And I really don't want to have that big fantasy for a day just to go home to reality forever.

...Not that reality with Mr. X isn't great. It's awesome. It's better than awesome... It's <3. But I guess, I'm just not really a big fan of big weddings. And it's great that Mr. X doesn't care either way.

So yeah, I want a tiny intimate wedding. A wedding where almost everything is D.I.Y. and a wedding where I get to see, hug, talk to, and hangout with, all the people that I hold dear to my heart. A place where I won't have to worry if I'm being too loud or whether I'm prim and proper... And a place where everyone would feel comfortable just to be themselves.

So, yeah... No sit down dinners with obnoxiously overpriced tableware. And snooty expensive meals that are impossible to pronounce. We want a casual picnic with classy and elegant details.

X and I have actually managed to narrow it down to three different locations, each of which have several different options.

The first option is, of course, the beach... Since Mr. X and I both love the beach and have spent numerous awesome romantic moments there, it is definitely the most obvious choice. Of course, that's the thing... It's too obvious. And X says he wants our wedding to be unique... But I'm sure that everyone who knows us would agree that even if X and I got married in Las Vegas at one of those chapels where you take a number and where about a million couples have gotten married before, we would be able to make it uniquely ours.

The second option is the Hatta desert or Fujairah rock-type mountains. The isolation is actually perfect. It would seem like we were the only ones around, because that probably is true for a couple of hundred miles. We'd just have to arrange for everyone's transportation, but Mr. X says that that's just a minor detail.

Our third option is the easiest and most convenient place... The park... I know, I know. Don't roll your eyes at me. Think about it, we'd have these cute traditional picnic cloth mats and cute picnic baskets. This actually ties up well with our Mad Tea Party theme if we were to go with that... But it's not gonna be as isolated as the other places would be. And yes, I can actually feel your judgment through my computer screen as I type this. But c'mon give it a chance... It's not that tacky.

Anyway, as soon as Mr. X and I agree on where, we have to figure out which... Which beach, which park, or which desert or mountainous region?

Choices. Choices. Choices.

Why are there so many?

X and I are just normal folk. And we like normal food. Sure we like the occassional foie gras and impossibly priced caviar... But at the end of the day, we just want to sit down and have tuyo and daing for dinner. With matching sibuyas and kamatis.

Uyyy, si X tumutulo na laway. Moohahaha.

So we were thinking of all Filo food. Tuyo, daing, inihaw na manok, inihaw na bay-boy, inihaw na isda, hipon, alimango, Purefoods hotdog. LOL. Oh and shempre rice.

Having our cake and eating it, too.

X and I were discussing this last night... And we were thinking about our options...

How many tiers do we want? ...Do we even want tiers or should we just get cupcakes? What color? Round or square? ...And the list goes on.

We were thinking that if we were to go with the...

...Faux Winter Wonderland Theme / Semi Goth - We'd get a simple white, an icy blue, or a black & white tiered cake.


...Mad Tea Party Theme - We'd get the TopsyTurvy MadHatter chocolate cake in our wedding colors.


...Indie Casual Beach Chic - We'd get a beach themed yummy nommyness with our colors.


...Jack & Sally - Obviously, we'd get a NBC themed cake...


...And lastly for the Barbie Daw theme (Nyahahaha. Kulet mo talaga, X.) - This is what we'd get.

Wow... This is a lot. I didn't realize... And I haven't even gotten through everything yet. The decor, the lights, the music, and all the other details.

Goodness. This is overwhelming. Gaaah.

But of course... No matter how overwhelming it is... The thought of spending the rest of your life with the man of your dreams is well worth going insane over...
