Wasted Skies

As I stare out the window from this fluorescent-lit, grey-walled, blue-carpetted prison, I can't help but think of the many skies I've wasted. I may have written about this before, but I feel it needs to be reiterated. Middle Eastern skies aren't always blue and you rarely see clouds, mostly it's grey or beige. The skies are probably trying to match the concrete that's being poured all over the place or the sand...

It's funny how that is... Actually, I say it's funny, but really it's not. I've lost interest. I've lost interest in my life in this place. Of course, that's not to say that I don't like this place and the friends we've made. There just always comes a time when I start to lose interest. It's a cycle that I've been going through eversince we left the Philippines when I was eight years old to go to the land where donkeys are aplenty... Fifteen years and four countries later, I still haven't broken the cycle... And I don't really intend to. Being the ever spoiled and ever bratty person that everyone thinks I am, this may not come as a shock. You may roll your eyes at me until your irises don't come back to their proper position, but I must bluntly say, that I have lost interest in this situation. I need a change. And if you need a reason, the only reason I could give you is that I am and will probably always be a gypsy. I'm sure you don't like that reason, but tough. That's how it is.

I've spent over 1000 days, staring at a tiny computer screen waiting for the day to end. That's 12% of my life so far. I've wasted more than 1000 skies. I don't want to waste anymore...
