...of defective CD-Rs. I'm thinking of returning it to the store, but it had been bought a couple of months ago and I doubt that they'd take it back. But even if they did, my pride would not allow for me to just receive a new spindle. Because the time I wasted going through the spindle isn't just worth the dirham amount of a fifty-disc spindle. If fairness were to rule, they'd give me a lifetime supply of CD-Rs, but then I'm sure irony would butt in and all the free discs that I would be given would be defective.
A lifetime supply of defective CD-Rs. How invaluable.
Of course, I could use those for other things. I could decorate my wall with defective CD-Rs, it would be beautiful I'm sure, but this would all remind me of how fabulously ironic my world has become.
Filled with beautiful shiny things that are of no use.
Ok, that's unfair, I guess, aesthetically, they would be useful, but soon all that glitter would collect dust and the shine and shimmer would then be dull. I'm sure the maintenance of having a wall (or walls?) filled with a lifetime supply of defective CD-Rs would be nightmare-ish, to say the least. Can you imagine having to mount all of that? One by one?
...Imagine my dismay if one were to fall. And imagine the drama if more than one fell.
I suppose by then the problem would have been the mounting tape. Seeing how ironic everything is and has become, why should then be any different... Of course, I could go back to the stationery store and possibly get a lifetime supply of unusable mounting tape.
But where would I put all of these lifetime-supply items? I doubt anyone else would want them. It's like being rich, when money doesn't matter or some other fantastic metaphor that I can't seem to put my finger on right now.
You know what, though? I deserve this. For all of the CD-Rs that I got for free from the office or elsewhere. This is payback. And all things considered, AED30 is a cheap payback, if I do say so myself.
